"PBKDF2 and bcrypt are key stretching techniques used to make weak passwords more secure against Brute Force Attacks by increasing the time it takes to test each possible key.
PBKDF2 applies a pseudorandom function, such as a cryptographic hash, cipher, or HMAC to the input password or passphrase along with a salt value.
Bcrypt incorporates salt and the iteration count can be increased to make it slower, making it more resistant to brute force attacks."
