System Architecture 1.1

James Brwn English 7 cards

Cards in this deck (7)

  1. 1System architecture 1.1The processor is 'the main part of the computer system'
The processor carries out all the instructions into a computer.
It also has a clock speed which is measured in Hertz.
  2. 2Processor CoresProcessing cores are where the instructions are all finished.
    Cores can be multi-core
    .Dual Core
    .Quad Core
    .8 Core
The dual core may make twice as many instructions per second.
  3. 3CacheThe cache is very fast and it normally only has a small amount of memory on the chip.
It is between the processor and the main memory.
The cache holds commonly used instructions.
  4. 4Clock speedThe clock speed will double the number of the instructions what are executed per second.
  5. 5Hardware and SoftwareThe computer has both of these in and is known as firmware usually for the harder tasks .
  6. 6MDR and CIRMemory data register and current instruction register
The MDR is the instructions that are finished in the memory address in main memory.
CIR is the instructions stored in the MDR and are copied
  7. 7ALU( Arithmetic Logic unit)This includes operations and arithmetic operations also: +,-,AND,OR
