- 1What is Cyber Bullying?The use of electronic communication to bully a person, typically by sending messages of an intimidating or threatening nature
- 2What are Privacy Settings?Settings used to protect any personal or private information stored on social media sites. E.g. Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat etc
- 3What are Viruses?A piece of code that can corrupt systems, it can copy pieces of information and can infect a device without an owners permission or knowledge
- 4What is PhishingPhishing is when you try to trick someone out into giving you their personal information, this can be used via text and email. E.g. If you send someone an email saying their bank account has been used and they need to verify their details, but you send them a different number to call and then when the person tells you the details, you take it away and actually use their bank account
- 5What is Copyright?Copyright is a legal right created by the law of a country that grants the creator of an original work exclusive rights for its use and distribution. If you are breaching the copyright laws, you most likely will be punished for it
- 6How do you alter privacy settings?Within your account settings, you'll find a tool that helps you change the audience of posts you've shared with Public or Friends of Friends to Friends Only. To use this tool, click at the top right of any Facebook page and choose Settings. Select Privacy from the left menu
- 7What is The Data Protection Act?The Data Protection Act is an organisation, founded in 1998, that covers information or data stored on a computer system or a filing system. This act makes sure that companies keep information / data safe, secure and up to date
- 8What is Malware?Malware (short for 'malicious software') is specifically designed to disrupt, damage, or gain unauthorised access to a computer system
