IP address An IP address is a series of numbers that is assigned to your device so other devices on that network can recognize that device and so the network server knows how many devices it has
MAC address A MAC address is an address that is embedded into your device so other devices know what that device and its property's are when on a network. Your device will have one even without a network card of any form.
FTP File Transfer Protocol is a protocol that is used for transferring files from a device to a network server
HTTP Hypertext Transfer Protocol is a protocol that is used in the distribution of Media and other data on the internet
HTTPS A secure version of HTTP that is usually used for transactions online, such as PayPal.
SMTP Simple Mail Transfer Protocol is used to send messages such as emails to a web server.
POP3/IMAP Post Office Protocol or Internet Message Access Protocol are protocols used to receive messages off the internet. POP3 downloads the emails onto the device whereas IMAP accesses the provider on the internet to read them.
Packets Contains a small piece of data as well as the IP address from the sender and the receiver as well as their MAC addresses.
VOIP Voice Over Internet Protocol lets you use your voice over the internet and allows other audio media across as well.
DNS A Domain Name Server is a server that translate IP addresses into a websites domain name, such as 199.223.239.255 with will access one of YouTube's many servers
TCP/IP Transmission Control Protocol is a set of protocols used to communicate over the internet and organizes packets into how they will be sent and the information they carry is correct and all present
