- 5Distillation method1. The solution is heated. The part of the solution that has the lowest boiling point evaporates first
2. The vapour is then cooled and condenses and collected
3. The rest of the solution is left behind in the flask

1.put your mixture in a flask and stick a fractionating column on top.
2. Then you heat it
3. The different liquids in the mixture will have different boiling points
4. Lowest boiling point evaporates first and reaches the top of the column
5. This should condense and and be collected
6. Th temperature is then increased so the second evaporates and condenses and so on
