Math Unit 1: Formula's and Definitions
Cards in this deck (8)
- 1What is a power?A power is a product of identical factors and consists of two parts: a base and an exponent. The base is the identical factor, and the exponent tells us how many factors there are.
- 2What is the product rule? When multiplying powers withe the same base, add the exponents to write the product as a single power
- 3What is the quotient rule? When dividing powers with the same base subtract the exponents to write the quotient as a single power
- 4What is the power of a power rule?A power of a power can be written as a single power by multiplying the exponents
- 5What are the different types of polynomials?Monomial (has one term), Binomial (has two terms), trinomial (three terms)
- 6What is the degree of a polynomial? The degree is the sum of all variables in a term
- 7What is a constant?A term with no variables
- 8What is a coefficient?A coefficient is the numerical part of a term containing variables
