Tahlia Watt English 21 cards

Cards in this deck (21)

  1. 1do a sign model for 2+-2=?correct answer: 0
  2. 2-36+-64=-100
  3. 3Write the first 10 cube numbers1,8,27,64,125,216,343,512,729,1000
  4. 4Write the first 10 prime numbers1,3,5,7,11,13,17,19,23,29
  5. 5Write the first 10 cube numbers1,2,9,16,25,36,49,64,81,100
  6. 6highest common factor of 18 & 24 explain how you worked it out=6
    you do a horse shoe and work out the factor pairs for each number. you then circle all the factors that are in both horse shoes the highest circled factor is then your 'highest common factor'
  7. 7lowest common multiple of 6 & 8 explain how you worked it out=24
    you count in6's and 8's until you find a number that is in both of the number patterns. in this problem it is 24
  8. 8what is the product of prime numbers for 72 explain how you worked it out=2(to the power of 3) x 3 (to the power of 2)
    you do a factor tree. you find a factor pair that goes into your chosen number. for example: 72, 2 and 36. 2 is a prime number so you do not expand on that. but then you find a factor pair that goes into 36, which is 9 and 2, you then expand 9 into 3&3. then you turn02x3x3x2x2 into index notation
  9. 9what is a square root?a number that when multiplied by itself equals that number.
  10. 10what is the square root of 25=5
  11. 11what is the square root of 60between 7&8
  12. 12how did you work that out60 is in between 49 and 64, and the square roots of those numbers are 7 and 8
  13. 13write the first 10 cube numbers1.4.9.16.25.36.49.64.81
  14. 14what is a cube roota number multiplied by itself 3 times.
    aka a number to the power of 3
  15. 15what is the cube root of 125=5
    5x5x5=125
  16. 16what is the base and index number in this equation 6(to the power of 4)base= 6
    index= 4
  17. 17write 4(to the power of 4) in expanded form4x4x4x4
  18. 184(to the power of 8)+4(to the power of 2) how did you work that out=4(to the power of 10)
    when the base is the same you plus the index together.
  19. 194(to the power of3)x3(to the power of 2)x7x3(to the power of 5)x7= put answer in index form how did you work it out!=4(to the power of 3)x3(to the power of 7)x7(to the power of2)
    you simply, when there are 2or more numbers with the same base number you put it into index form. so 7x7=7(to the power of 2)
  20. 20(3x2)(to the power of 6) explain how you worked it out= 3(to the power of 6)x2(to the power of 6)
    everything inside the bracket is multiplied by 2. you erase the brackets and then write it out separately
  21. 21(6(to the power of 2))(to the power of 6) explain how you worked it out= 6(to the power of 2)x6(to the power of 2)x6(to the power of 2)=6(to the power of 6)
    you remove the brackets and write out 6(to the power of 2) 3 times because that is what it says
