Question Answer
What do animal cells and plant cells have in common? features such as: nucleus, cytoplasm, cell membrane, mitochondria and ribosomes.
What is the nucleus? Contains genetic material, which controls the activities of the cell.
What is cytoplasm? Where chemical processes take place, controlled by enzymes.
What is the cell membrane? Controls movement of substances going in and out of the cell.
What is mitochondria? Most energy released by respiration here.
What are ribosomes? where protein synthesis happens.
extra plant cell parts: What is the cell wall? This strengthens the cell.
extra plant cell parts: What are chloroplasts? Contain chlorophyll, which absorbs light energy for photosynthesis.
extra plant cell parts: What is the permanent vacuole? Filled with cell sap to help keep the cell swollen/turgid.
