Storage Flashcards
Cards in this deck (7)
- 1Internal StorageStorage that is located inside your device, for example a hard drive.
They are commonly faster since they are already connected to your computer.
However since they are generally the main storage device if they are damaged you will lose all your data. - 2Removable StorageStorage that can be removed from your computer, for example a USB drive.
They are generally less expensive.
They can be quite easily lost which leads to loss of data. - 3Cloud StorageStorage that is stored on the Internet, for example Dropbox.
They are useful and pretty impossible to lose.
They can be hacked and your data stolen that way. - 4Physical StorageStorage that is kept on a physical disk.
For example a hard disk.
They are often already inside your computer for access, they are also quite cheap which attracts companies to use them.
They can be smaller than your thumb. - 5Output DevicesDevices that give you some form of media or data.
For example a speaker or monitor.
They can be broken which leads to the user not receiving any data.
However they are still useful for receiving data, some can even be expensive to run. - 6Input DevicesDevices where you input some form of media or data.
For example a microphone or keypad.
They are useful for putting data into systems.
However they can break leading to no transference of data. - 7Obsolete Storage DevicesObsolete storage devices are storage devices that are less used or no longer used, for example a cassette or floppy disk.
They are useful and store the data well, but have been replaced by newer things that can use the stored data faster or 'better'.
