- 1Cloud Storage advantages: Data can be accessed form anywhere. Data can be accessed using any device with internet. You'll have back ups of the data stored separately. Online storage services allow you to share files with others easily.Cloud storage disadvantages:
Cloud storage is not very secure from hackers.
Cloud storage relies on the internet so if the internet's down you won't be able to access any of your files.
You have to pay an annual fee for some cloud storage services. - 2Solid state storage advantages: It can't be corrupted by any external magnetic sources. Solid state storage devices have no moving parts; they use binary so they won't wear off or get damaged if you drop them. SSD's make no noise at all, since they have no moving parts. SSD's are also very fast compared to other storage devices.Solid state storage disadvantages:
The Solid State Drive's price per gigabyte is much higher than hard drives; SSD's are very expensive. - 3Physical storage advantages: Physical storage devices are very cheap.Physical storage disadvantages:
Physical storage devices are very slow.
They can wear off after being used for a certain amount of time(not very durable).
The data stored in physical storage devices can be corrupted by external magnetic devices. - 4Removable Storage advantages: You can take them with you. They're durable because they have no moving parts. They can store large amounts of data.Removable storage disadvantages:
You can lose them easily. - 5Obsolete devices are devices that are no longer in use.Some examples of obsolete are:
