- 1Force - a force is a push or pull - there are two forces acting on all objects: - gravitational force - normal force
- 2Contact Force most forces require contact between objects
- 3Non Contact Force - some forces act at a distance - they don't need contact eg: gravitatonal magnetic electrical
- 4Balanced Forces - when the forces acting on an object are balanced, the object will not change speed or direction
- 5Unbalanced Forces - If the forces acting on an object are unbalanced, the object will accelerate
- 6Forces and Acceleration In science, acceleration means to 'speed up', 'slow down' or 'change direction'
- 7Inertia Newton's first law: Inertia "objects will continue to do what they are doing until an unbalanced force acts on them"- an object moving at a constant speed/direction has constant velocity (balanced forces)
- it will continue that unless an additional force acts on it - 8Vector diagrams vector diagrams state the net magnitude and direction of the force using arrows
