Scalar- Quantity that has a magnitude (size) but no direction - 4What is distance and displacement?Distance- How far you have travelled (Scalar)
Displacement- Distance from a point in a particular direction (Vector) - 5What is speed and velocity?Speed- How fast an object travels (Scalar)
Velocity- How fast something travels in a direction (Vector) - 6What is acceleration and what is the formula?-Acceleration- Change in velocity per second
-Acceleration (m/s squared)= Change in velocity (m/s)/ time (s) - 7In a distance time graph what does,horizontal line, diagonal, curved and gradient line show?-Horizontal line- Stationary
-Diagonal line- Objective moving at a steady line
-Curved line- Objective moving at a changing speed
-Gradient of line- Speed - 8How do you calculate speed in distance time graph?Draw a right angle triangle under the line
Find the change in distance and the change in time
Substitute into the speed formula - 9What do distance time graph and displacement graph show?-Distance time graph shows the distance covered
-Displacement time graph can have a zero,positive or negative gradient. The gradient is velocity
Velocity = Change in displacement/ Change in time
