Question Answer
Reaction Time Time taken between a reaction starting and stopping
Reactant Substance that takes part in a chemical reaction.
Excess If a reactant is in excess there is enough of it to react with all of the other reactant(s).
Continuous Variable A variable that can have any value, best displayed on a line graph
Rate of Reaction The amount of product formed in fixed amount of time. In fast reaction more product is formed in a short time. Is the slope of a line on a product against time graph so it can be calculated by product/time.
Product Substance produced in a chemical reaction
Gas Syringe Measures the volume of gas produced in a reaction.
Limiting Reactant The reactant that is used up first.
The amount of product formed is... directly proportional to the limiting reactant.
Sucessful Collision A collision that causes a reaction
