- 1What is an input device?An input device is a device that allows information to be inserted into it and then shows an outcome.
- 2What is an output device?An output device sends data to another device or user.
- 3What is a storage device?A storage device allows information to be inserted into it and then the storage device stores the information and can insert into another device.
- 4What is the purpose of a power supply?The power supply pumps electricity around the computer.
- 5What is the purpose of the computer case?The computer case holds all the components inside the computer together.
- 6What is the purpose of the motherboard?It sends electrical messages to the components of the computer.
- 7What is the purpose of the processor?The processor processes all the information inside of the computer.
- 8What is the purpose of the RAM?The RAM stores the information of the task that is being carried out.
- 9What is the purpose of the ROM?Stores the program to boot up the computer - this is called the bootstrap loader.
- 10What is the purpose of the hard drive?This where all the documents, photographs, programmes etc. are stored on the computer.
