  1. 1What is an Output Device? An output device is any device used to send data from a computer to another device or user. Most computer data output that is meant for humans is in the form of audio or video.
  2. 2What is an Input Device? An input device is a piece of computer hardware equipment used to provide data and control signals to an information processing system such as a computer or information appliance.
  3. 3What does CPU stand for?CPU stands for 'Central Processing Unit' and is the main core of a computer where every command runs through and is routed to its appropriate location.
  4. 4What does RAM stand for?RAM (pronounced ramm) is an acronym for random access memory, a type of computer memory that can be accessed randomly; that is, any byte of memory can be accessed without touching the preceding bytes. RAM is found in servers, PCs, tablets, smartphones and other devices, such as printers.
  5. 5What is a Power Supply?A power supply is an electrical device that supplies electric power to an electrical load. The primary function of a power supply is to convert electric current from a source to the correct voltage, current, and frequency to power the load.
  6. 6What is a Tower?A computer case, also known as a computer chassis, tower, system unit, CPU (when referring to the desktop as a whole), or cabinet, is the enclosure that contains most of the components of a computer (usually excluding the display, keyboard, and mouse).
  7. 7What is a Raspberry Pi?The Raspberry Pi is a credit-card-sized computer that costs between $5 and $35. It's available anywhere in the world, and can function as a proper desktop computer or be used to build smart devices.
  8. 8What is the purpose of the Processor? The most important component of a computer is the central processing unit, or CPU, also called the processor. The processor acts as the computer's brain, running programs and sending and receiving signals to attached devices to keep the computer running.
  9. 9What is the purpose of ROM?ROM stands for read-only memory. It's used to store the start-up instructions for a computer, also known as the firmware. Most modern computers use flash-based ROM. It is part of the BIOS chip, which is located on the motherboard.
  10. 10What is the purpose of the Hard Drive? The most important characteristic of a hard drive is how much data the hard drive can store, referred to as the storage capacity. A typical internal hard drive for a new desktop computer or laptop has a storage capacity of several hundred gigabytes (GB) up to one terabyte (TB).
  11. 11What is a repetitive strain injury (RSI) and what causes them?Repetitive strain injury (RSI) is a general term used to describe the pain felt in muscles, nerves and tendons caused by repetitive movement and overuse. It's also known as work-related upper limb disorder, or non-specific upper limb pain.
  12. 12What is the cause of back injuries when using a computer?Posture-related injuries from computer use. Back and neck pain, headaches, and shoulder and arm pain are common computer-related injuries. Such muscle and joint problems can be caused or made worse by poor workstation (desk) design, bad posture and sitting for long periods of time.
  13. 13What is eye strain and what is the cause?Eye strain is a symptom, not an eye disease. Eye strain occurs when your eyes get tired from intense use, such as driving a car for extended periods, reading, or working at the computer. Many jobs involve working with computers for long periods of time, but it is ... employees to use computers outside of the office, so a laptop computer may be provided
  15. 15What is the purpose of Binary?A binary code represents text, computer processor instructions, or any other data using a two-symbol system. The two-symbol system used is often the binary number system's 0 and 1. The binary code assigns a pattern of binary digits, also known as bits, to each character, instruction, etc.
  16. 16How many bits are in a Binary number?A single binary digit, either zero or one. byte. 8 bits, can represent positive numbers from 0 to 255. hexadecimal.
  17. 17Know how to convert from Binary to DenaryThe decimal or “denary” counting system uses the Base-of-10 numbering system where each digit in a number takes on one of ten possible values, called “digits”, from 0 to 9, eg. 21310 (Two Hundred and Thirteen).
  18. 18Know how to convert from Denary to BinarySet up the problem. For this example, let's convert the decimal number 15610 to binary. ...
Divide. Write the integer answer (quotient) under the long division symbol, and write the remainder (0 or 1) to the right of the dividend. ...
Continue to divide until you reach 0. ...
Write out the new, binary number.
