Denominator The bottom number of a fraction
Numerator The top number of a fraction
Equivalent Fraction Fractions that are of equal value but are in a different format
Highest Common Factor The highest number that can be divided exactly into each of two or more numbers.
Simplify To divide the numerator and denominator of a fraction by the same number until their highest common factor is 1.
Lowest terms When a fraction has been simplified until the highest common factor of the numerator and denominator is 1.
Improper Fraction A fraction where the numerator is larger than the denominator.
Common Denominator This is where the denominator of one or more fractions is the same.
