- 11Definition of IncarnationTo become of human flesh and blood. This is evident in Jesus being fully human and fully divine.
- 12Reasons why Incarnation is important to ChristiansIn order for people to understand the desire God has for the salvation of each of us, He needed to send his son to live and die, and be resurrected. Jesus was the model of how each person should live and how to become the person God wants us to be. By Jesus being human, we are each capable of truly being the sons and daughters of God.
- 13Catholic perspective of conscienceThe conscience was created in us by God – it stirs within us thoughts and emotions towards what is good. Because of this, conscience stirs people towards goodness and love. The conscience is the most secret core of a person.
- 14Examination of conscienceThis allows us to evaluate our deliberate thoughts, words and actions. It is a judgement upon us, deciding how our actions follow God’s laws. Then seek forgiveness if they have broken these laws/if their actions haven’t followed God’s laws. Include the three questions on page 26.

Morality of the Intention
Morality of the Circumstances (including consequences) - 17Ways that religion guides people in their choicesWe’ve been given the Laws of God in the Old Testament, and then Jesus came to give a clearer understanding of God’s laws.
- 18The Principal of Double EffectSome human actions have at least two simultaneous consequences. When one of these consequences is good and the other is bad, this is morally permissible under three conditions.
*The INTENDED consequence was a good one
*The bad effect is not the real reason for the action
*The benefit achieved by the action is equal to or greater than any harm done. - 19What it means by an immoral means cannot justify a good endJust because the end intention was a good one, the means in achieving this intention must still be morally good.
- 20What is Natural Law?A law that is found within human nature. It guides us to know about good and evil and be able to discern between the two. It stems from our need to reflect God, and so we constantly strive to know what is good.
- 21What is Divine Law?God revealed divine law to help guide and encourage us to do what is good. Divine law refers to the specific laws given to us to guide human behaviour

Some nations have more than others. The earth’s resources are for all people.
- 35How do we put this into practice?Encourage foreign aid, work to improve fish stocks, advance education
- 36Why should religions be involved in Social Justice?Within economics/businesses/governments there are conflicting interests, which means different people have different priorities. However, there is a moral dimension to all economic theory and action. This moral dimension is covered by three principles of catholic social teachings.
- 37Ways that we experience the Church as a SacramentThe Christian message needs to be lived by human effort. This can be done through the sacraments, e.g.
the special strength and gifts of the Holy Spirit are received by those confirmed
God makes home within those who have been baptised - 38Ways that Christians can struggle to live out the Church’s mission- Reluctant to bother caring for and respecting the environment
- Tempted to use and exploit the earth’s resources
- Ignoring God instead of praying and worshipping - 39The Sacrament of PenanceThe sacraments that restores the relationship between us and God. Jesus created this sacrament to give his Church the power to forgive sins. It restores completely the relationship between sinner and their Creator.
- 40Definition of sinA sin is a deliberate thought, word or action against the law of God.
- 41Conditions for mortal sin- The behaviour must indeed be a violation of what God has taught to be a grave law
- The behaviour must have been committed in the knowledge of the grave law
