9.Graphics card - 4What is the CPU?The CPU is the brains of the computer system, this processes all the data and instruction
depends on different characteristics such as the = clock speed number of cores and cache size - 5What is the Control Unit (CU)The overall control of the CPU. its primary role is to execute program instructions.
It controls data flow inside the CPU - 6What is the Arithmetic Logic Unit (ALU)The primary role of this is to perform all the calculations. It completes addition, subtraction, multiplication and division, but also being able to compare the size of the numbers.
It performs logic operations such as AND, OR and NOT - 7What is the Cache?Fast memory

L1 fastest lowest capacity, L2slower can hold more, L3 slowest but can hold the most - 8Explain the Fetch instruction1) Copies memory address from the program counter to the MAR
2)Copies the instructions stored in the MAR address to the MDR
3)increment (increase) the program counter to point the address of the next instruction, ready for the next cycle - 9Explain the Decode instructionThe instruction in the MDR is detected by the CU. The CU may then prepare for the next step e.g. by loading values into the MAR or MDR.
- 10Explain the Execute instructionThe instruction is performed. this could be: load data from the memory. Write data to memory , do a calculation or logic operation (using ALU), change the address in the PC, or halt the program.
