What Is A Thriller? a thriller usually consists of a protagonist character and a antagonist, when there is disruption in the equriblium. Then the story shows a chain of bad events building tension and suspenese for the climax. The aim of the protagonist is to restore justice, whilst the antagonist seeks to destroy it.
Characters? The protagonist is often a brave male who seeks to restore the equilibrium. The antagonist will have a hidden identity that the audience will uncover as the film progresses. often in revenge from a past event.
Editing Of A Thriller? The director will include lots of jump cuts because there will be lots of stuff happening that the audience will not unaware of but is essential to the film/story to make sense. Cross cutting is a key point in editing as its used to build suspense. which is essential to a thriller film.
Cinematography Of A Thriller? protagonist character : lots of close ups,extreme close ups used to show their emotion. Also props to aid the narrative. antagonist character : shots will be cut quickly in aim to hide their identity.
Sound In Film? Music is essential to any film to understand the mood of character - and hint at a significant part of the film. In a thriller it adds suspense and tension. It will often start at slow paves and the build up to make dramatic shots for the audience.
Themes Of A Thriller? The storyline will be designed so the audience will think that it could happen to them, which therefore will make them feel bad.
Mise en Scene Mise en Scene Location is a important part as it will help establish the theme. lighting is often low key costumes composition make-up and hair styles acting film stroke
