1What does the RAM stand for?Random Access Memory
2What does CPU stand for?Central Processing Unit
3What does ALU stand for?Arithmetic logic unit
4What are Buses?They are electrical conductors that carry electrical signals between components I the CPU?
5What is a Clock?It controls the rate at which program instructions are carried out.
6What is a Decoder?It interprets program instructions and tells the ALU what operations to carry out.
7What is the Registers?It is a memory locations. some preform special functions in the fetch-decode-execute cycle.
8What is a Cache?It is very fast Random Access Memory
9AccumulatorStores the results of calculations carried out by the ALU
10What is the MAR?Memory address register-holds the address of the memory location currently being read(fetch) or written to.
11Program counterHolds the address of the next instruction to be fetched.
12What is the Control Unit?The Control Unit decodes the instruction - decides what it means and then executes it - then carries it out. And if a calculation needs to be preformed it instructs the ALU.
