Question Answer
Loftus and Palmer Investigated the effect misleading information has on EWT. They found that changing just 1 word in a question altered responses. Participant's answers were influenced by a leading question.

Loftus Investigated anxiety using an experiment with two conditions. Participants either see a man with a penknife and blood OR a pen and grease. They then identify this man from 50 photos.Participants were more accurate at identifying the man with the pen and grease.
Weapon Focus effect The inability to correctly identify the perpetrator due to focusing on the weapon rather than their face, clothing etc.
Loftus and Messo Investigated weapon focus and found 38.9% of participants in the non weapon condition could identify a perpetrator. Whereas 11.1% of participants in the gun condition could identify the criminal- providing support for weapon focus.
Yerkes Dodson Curve A theory used to explain the relationship between anxiety and performance. Moderate anxiety helps performance.
Pickel Argued weapon focus doesn't occur due to the threat but instead due to the unusualness of the situation or object.
