-restore a skill or ability that has been lost - 5generaliseuse skills learned in another context
e.g. using a skill in therapy, and then able to do it back on the ward - 6transferapply skilled learned to perform a new task or skill
e.g. someone learned how to do up fastenings so is able to do up a zip - 7adapt or modify• Performance is enhanced through modifications that compensate for activity limitations

• Focus is not on changing the person factors but optimising the environment or modifying task demands - 10prevention of disability• Focuses on developing performance skills and patterns that support continued OP e.g. joint protection strategies
• Provides intervention that anticipates potential hazards or challenges to OP e.g. falls prevention, pulmonary rehabilitation
