Question Answer
What are Tectonic hazards? examples? Volcanoes and Earthquakes, caused by movement of the earth's tectonic plates. Earthquakes and volcanoes can also result in tsunamis and landslides.
What are tectonic plates? Large sections of the Earth/s crust which float on the magma of the core, moved by convectional currents. These movements cause tectonic hazards.
Climatic Hazards? Example? What are they? Storms, floods, drought. Hazards that are caused by the weather and climate.
Describe a constructive plate boundary. When two plates (usually both oceanic) move away from each other, exposing the mantle underneath. As it cools a new crust forms.
What can be found at a constructive plate boundary? New islands/ridges e.g. North Atlantic Ridge. Gentle Volcanoes and Earthquakes present.
