Question Answer
Ease of Access I could access my work away from my desk, such as on the bus. This means that I can complete my work quicker and plan more in depth.
Equipment I used different sets of equipment to give me access to a variety of different styles of shots and give me more professional results. Equipment I used included a Fig Rig, Tripod, Canon DSLR, Shoulder Mount and JVC Film Camera. Although I didn't use all of these during my music video I have gained new knowledge and confidence using them. I feel that if I had to use this equipment suddenly that I would be prepared to and have sufficient knowlege.
Online Tutorials I started this project with very little knowledge of software such as Premiere Pro. For this reason I needed to find out simple things like how to crop/zoom/enlarge a shot and I used YouTube tutorials to solve the issues I had. I really liked how I could access tricks and techniques quickly so I could use the software more proficiently.
Distribution Through using a blog the world could access my work and possibly give me feedback (i.e Tumblr audience feedback). I didn't advertise my blog in any way but while I am writing this I have 2317 page views. This was free and highlights to me how easy it is to get opinions and products out to fans and the public for free.
Editing Due to the work being on a computer it was easy to edit and could remove everything that was there before. For example there were some keyboard errors in my thank you note in my digipak. If I had been using pen and paper there would've been a lot more of an impact on trying to remove these and could possibly even ruin my work/make me start again. Whereas using computers to edit means it can be a quick and easy process.
Quick and Simple For some analyses and evaluations I wrote a considerable amount. If I had used pen and paper it would take twice as long. There is also a possibility of misplacing and losing a piece of paper whereas online the chance of this is significantly reduced.
Storage If I were to complete my coursework by paper there would be a huge amount of paper wasted and space taken up. This would be heavy to carry around. Whereas due to everything being on computers means that it is all compact and doesn't take up lots of files.
Accessible If I were to lose my notebook all my notes would be gone, but through use of OneDrive, Google Docs and two hard drives means that if my laptop were to break then I wouldn't be held up and could resume my work on another device.
Cross Media Convergence Websites often now have app equivalents. For example Blogger, Google Drive, Office Mobile, Word and One Drive. This means I could complete work on my phone in moments where usually I wouldn't be able to complete anything. Although relating cross media convergence to my artist was difficult due to the record company not being a part of an oligopoly or conglomerate and therefore Matthew P wouldn't have been able to access these opportunities.
Easy to Understand Because everything is typed then everything can be understood easily by anyone whereas my handwriting can sometimes be difficult to to read. It can also be translated easily online if anyone who didn't speak English wanted to access my work. There is a sense of a global community.
