Cards in this deck (5)
- 1Sieving: This is a method in which two or more components are separated, and they have different sizes, that's what separated them from the mixture. So if they have the same size, you cannot separated them. Like separating fine gravel from coarse gravelEvaporation:
Is a process of the states of matter, in which the molecules of a liquid (or even a solid) gain the sufficient energy to get in a gaseous form. Like when you boil water. - 2Distillation: Is a process in which heating a liquid and then, collecting the vapor so when it condenses and it's cooled, you have separated a substance from the liquid. Like purifying alcohol.Decantation:
Is a process in which you separate mixtures . What happens is that you remove a liquid layer that is free of a precipitate, or the solids deposited from a solution. Like removing oil form water. - 3Crystallisation: Is a process in which the molecules of a liquid are concentrated in a certain area so they transform into a solid. Like when you put water in the freezer.Filtration:
Is a process in which solids are separated form a type of liquid or gases using a filter medium that allows the fluid to pass through but not the solid. Like draining the water from a pot of noodles. - 4Magnetism: Is the moment of an electrical charge in which it's generated a magnetic field in a material, and this materials have electrically charged particular. Like a bar magnet and an other metal.Paper Chromatography:
Process used to separate colored chemicals or substances. It works by the different rates of migration across sheets of paper. Like when you use a finger print. - 5Centrifuging: Is a process or method in which centrifugal force is used to separate particles or molecules from a solution. Like a magines that separate cream from milk.bibliography:
