At the cinema together they see a newsreel with Larry celebrated as a war hero. |

World War Two is over and he has ‘no face’. | Much of the story is told through flashbacks, which take us back to when Francis was 13 and first met Nicole.We also learn the tragic history of Grenier’s Hall, which was to become the Wreck Centre.We get glimpses of Francis’ war experiences and learn why Francis wants to kill Larry who was such a hero to the children of Frenchtown. |
