Variable a symbol which functions as a placeholder for varying expression or quantities and is often a letter, ex. X
Constant A fixed value. In Algebra, a constant is a number on its own, or sometimes a letter such as a, b or c to stand for a fixed number. Example: in "x + 6 = 11", 6 and 11 are constants.
Coefficient A number used to multiply a variable. Example: 3z means 3 times z, and "z" is a variable, so 3 is a coefficient.
Operation There are 4 basic operations in math: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
