Components of a session: Warm-up 3 part warm-up to include pulse raiser, stretches held for 8-10 seconds and mobilisation.
Components of a session: Main component Skills and conditioned games or full game
Components of a session: Cool Down Pulse lowering activities and repeat of stretches from the warm up held for 15-20 seconds.
Leadership Styles: What is an autocratic leadership and what are its advantages/ disadvantages? The leader makes all of the decisions and ensures instructions are followed. Advantages: Very good for safety with dangerous activities or inexperienced participants. Disadvantages: Participants can become annoyed at having no say and rebel.
Leadership Styles: What is a democratic leadership and what are its advantages/ disadvantages? There is collaboration between the leader and their participants when making decisions. Advantages: Participants feel valued, so can be more motivated. Disadvantages: Can lead to disorganisation as too many opinions.
Leadership Styles: What is a Laissez-faire leadership and what are its advantages/ disadvantages? The leader makes few decisions and lets the participants choose what happens. Advantages: It can enhance team spirit. Disadvantages: Participants may start to talk over the coach and make bad decisions based on personal preferences.
Personality type: What are the characteristics of an introverted person? They are shy, quiet, thoughtful and they like to be on their own.
Personality type: What are the characteristics of an extroverted person? They are sociable, they enjoy interactions of others, enthusiastic, talkative and easily bored.
Personality type: What type of sport does an introverted person like? They tend to play individual sports that need concentration or precision and do not like too much excitement. E.g. rifle shooting, archery, athletics.
Personality type: What type of sport does an extroverted person like? They tend to play team sports with a fast pace and gross motor skills, needing less concentration. E.g. football, basketball, netball.
