Objective of this task is to establish project deliverables using planning sessions, brainstorming techniques, focus groups - 2Focus GroupsFocus groups are used to generate information through sharing among a select group of participants.
Participants are usually people who have stake in the project.
There are drawbacks focus groups are prone to biases originating from the facilitator or vocal members. - 3Kickoff MeetingMain objective is to communicate objective, scope, timeline, expectation, comm channels and strategic relevance

SMP: Scope Statement, WBS, Final acceptance, change control scope processes
Requirements Plan:
Collection and Verification plan
Configuration Management system
Requirements Prioritizing plan
Requirements Traceability Structure - 5Validate ScopeIs formalizing acceptance of the project completion by the stakeholders.
Scope verification document documents the level and extent to which the project has been completed before earlier termination.
Quality control is usually performed prior to validating scope or done in parallel. - 6Tools for Scope VerificationInspection: is the primary tool for scope verification, uses to verify if work has been completed and deliverables met. Measuring, examine, verifying work meets requirements. Completed deliverables not acceptable are documented with reason.
- 7WBS Dictionaryaccompany document to the WBS provides detail on component information, work package info, SOW etc.
- 8Scope baselineapproved time and phased project scope.it consists of detail project scope statement, wbs and wbs dictionary
