- 1FIRST CONDITIONALThis type of conditional is used in situations where if a condition is met, a certain result is likely to occur.
- 2ESTRUCTUREThe 1st conditional has the following structure:
If + subject + present simple, subject + future simple - 3USESWe use the first conditional to express future plans, threads, warnings, promises or to convince someone about something.
- 4BEAR IN MINDThe order of the two sentences that form the 1st conditional structure can be changed. If we start with the (If) condition, we will separate them with a comma. If we start with the phrase that expresses the result, it is not necessary to put the comma.
- 5ExampleIf the plane is delayed, she will be late.

- 6ExampleYour sister will go mad if you touch her things. (Notice that we don't use comma)

- 7REMEMBER!The first conditional is a type of conditional that is used to express a condition-result relationship in particular situations that occur in the future
- 8EXAMPLEIf your right hand ditches, you will earn money
