| Explain agglomeration and how it contributes to towns. What are the benefits of this? | The concentration of people and economic activities at favorable locations such as river crossing points, estuary mouths or close to mineral resources. It has its advantages because it’s more accessible and it’s easier to govern. |
| Why do some people choose to live in the suburbs? | Because its cheaper, nice to raise kids, less pollution and its an easy commute, not to far away that its rural but not in the middle of the city |
| What are the main factors affecting the rate of urbanisation? | The growth of secondary and tertiary factors, increasing need of Labour, demand for workers can be met, attraction of better job opportunities and services |
| Has there been a change in the amount of millionaire cities? | It is showing us how the number of millionaire cities have been increasing rapidly over the last 100 years |
| Assess the changing distribution (location) of five-million cities. | There were very few in 1950 but there numbers have increased since 2000 mainly in Asia even more so in 2015 |
| Explain the factors contributing to the growth of megacities. | Young people are drawn to living close to “where it’s all happening”, the advantages of cramming more people into the city so population growth, the multiplier effect and economic development |
