  1. 1VarnaVarna means caste. There are 4 castes. The first and highest class is the Brahmin caste. They are the educators and the only people allowed to teach the Veda. They are the purest and the ones who are supposed to lead rituals. They are the most religiously powerful and influential group. Only about 4% of the population is Brahm The second caste is the Ksatriya. This is the caste of kings, politicians and warriors. The third caste is the Vaisya caste. These are the middle class, the farmers and the merchants. The fourth caste is the Sudra. These are the slaves of the first three castes.
  2. 2AsramaAsarma is the 4 stages of life. The first is that of a student. Where your dharma (duty) is to study the Veda and be celibate while doing so. Afterwards, you must be a Householder where you get married, have children, and have a job with the financial means to support your family. Third, you have the Inward Phase where you are, in essence, " walking towards the forest". This is the time when you renounce some of the goods you attained from the second stage. The last stage is that of complete renunciation, where you become a monk essentially.
  3. 3PurusarthaThese are 4 goals and they are associated with the stage above. The first is Dharma. These are the values, ethics, duties, and responsibilities you carry with every role you have. The second is Artha. This means you must have the goal of acquiring worldly goods and becoming economically sustainable. The third Kama is desire. Desire is the first thing you must have to attain any goal. It is the planted seed. To have the right to pursue happiness and enjoyment in a dharmic way. Moksa is the last stage. It is the stage of liberation and pronouncement. To be a monk and to attain nirvana.

Dharma is what upholds you, what makes you integrous.
  6. 6KarmaKarma includes the action itself as well as the consequence of that action. Essentially, every action has a consequence. Sometimes good, sometimes bad. Each action is a seed that can produce fruit. It won't always produce fruit right away, sometimes it takes lifetimes ( literally) for the fruit to manifest itself. Karma will show up in how you live your next life. There is past karma, present karma and future karma. Sancita is past karma. It's the karma you've already collected. Prarabdha is present karma. and Agami is future karma
