Question | Answer |
Liminal Space meaning | The "in-between" region. You are in a state between both x and y- it's a grey area. For example, in 'Othello', Othello isn't just held back by social norms, but also Iago's Machiavellian machinations. You could argue that he is in - between these two ideas. |
Machiavellian meaning | From Machiavelli → he wrote 'The Prince', and outlined his "Machiavellian" motives. The term is often used to describe Iago, a malcontent who finds pleasure in ruining the lives of others. |
Negative Capability | The act of accepting mysteries without questioning them. For example, many people were taught stories with little to no meaning (hypothetically), but when we were younger, we would've accepted those stories, without considering their logical importance. Take for example, the idea of finding a Leprechaun with a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. It is obvious now that we are older, that it is just a childhood myth, but it as a child, we would've accepted this idea without any question. |
