Question Answer
What is a conductor? A conductor is a material that allows electricity to flow through it.
What is an insulator? An insulator is a material that blocks, or does not allow electricity to flow.
What is a circuit? A circuit is a path along which electricity can flow.
What is a closed circuit? A closed circuit is one in which all the parts are connected. The electricity has a complete path to follow so it flows easily.
What is an open circuit? An open circuit is a path in which there are one or more breaks (or openings). The circuit or path is broken so electricity cannot flow.
What is a receiver in an electrical circuit? A receiver is the component that uses the electricity. In our classroom it's often a lightbulb or a motor, but it could be other things.
What is the source in an electrical circuit? The source is the component of the circuit that stores the energy. In our classroom it's often a battery.
