Northeast Trade Winds	winds from the Northern Hemisphere that flow from the northeast
Southeast Trade Winds	Winds from the Southern Hemisphere that blow from the southeast
westerly	moving air mass that travels south and west in the N hemisphere and north and west in the southern near the equator
Polar easterlies	winds between 60 degrees and the north pole; blow north and east, winds in south pole, blow south and east.
horse latitudes	region is known for weak winds and dry air.
doldrums	region near the equator where air is relatively still and doesn't blow. AKA ITCZ (intertropical convergence zone) = heavy rain
jet stream	high speed currents of wind that occur in the upper troposphere. large influence on weather patterns.
