Ask someone to call the arrest team and bring the defibrillator
Note the time. Begin CPR.
Airway: head tilt + chin lift. clear the mouth.
Breathing: Check breathing, 2 breathing after 1st set of compressions.
Chest compressions: Give 30 compressions to 2 breaths. 4 cm compressions at 100/min. - 3Explain the importance of rapid defibrillation in a patient with VF or pulseless VT.In VF/ pulseless VT defibrillate without delay: 360 J monophasic, 150-360 biphasic. treatment may be life saving.
- 4Demonstrate the positioning of defibrillator in a patient with VF or pulseless VT.Place defibrillator paddles on chest as soon as possible and set monitor to read through the paddles if delay in attaching leads. Assess rhythm is this VF/ pulseless VT?
- 5Why cardiac arrest team not called for all patients that have cardiorespiratory arrest.Do not attempt resuscitation
