  1. 1: Decide What and Where to Promote:

    - Decide on a "type" of traffic source to focus on;

    - Decide on a vertical that matches your traffic source;

    - Choose a country/countries (Newbie tip: target less competitive GEOs like Latin America and Southeast Asia (Make sure you have proper translations);

    - Test at least 3 offers

  2. 1.1 Checklist for choosing the best offers:

    - Competition research;

    - Talking to affiliate managers and my masterminds;

    - Seeing what the latest buzz is at conferences;

    - Listening to my intuition.

  3. 2- Research the Offer

    -Use spy tools;

    -Talking to affiliate managers;

    -Manual spying;

  4. 3- Planning

    Don't go to war without a game plan

    Mind map every detail of the campaign to visualize the bigger picture

    1- Set Goals

    2- Execute

    3- Gather data

    4- Re-evaluate

    5- Repeat

    Questions to ask youreself:

    -How much budget will I allocate for each test?

    -How long will I run tests for?

    -What are some rules for cutting landers, placements, offers etc.?

  5. 4- Creatives Brainstorming & Creation

    Using your own creatives and LP will keep you 5 steps ahead of everyone else

    Come up with your own winning creatives by:

    - Brainstorm angles, headlines and ad text

    - Find shocking & attention-grabbing images to use;

    - Build templates for banners and landers so you can easily adapt them to new campaigns

  6. 5- Campaign Setup

    The fundamentals to have in the back end of every campaign:

    - Tracking server;

    - Webhost (I recommend at least a VPS)

    - Domain (I recommend NameCheap and pay the extra 2$ for WHOIS protection)

    - LP

    What you need for every campaign setup:

    - Uploading ads;

    - Fund traffic source;

    Tracker setup.

    Tip: Always test your campaign link to make sure your Lander/Offer load correctly

  7. 6- Launch and Data Collection

    - Always launch a new campaign with a really small budget;

    -Make sure all tracking links and conversion pixels are working properly;

    - Make sure you have statistically significant data to make data driven decisions;

    - After you launch, your 1st goal is to collect as much data as possible;

    - Stick to your plan. You will lose money. Let it run according to your planned budget and timeframe. Don't get emotional.

  8. 7- Split-testing

    1- Review the stats to see the campaign performance;

    2- Calculate statistical significance;

    3- Cut the worst performers and repeat the campaign to make sure data is significant;

    4- Make up a new campaign to test your current best lander/offer/ad against new ones and start cutting bad placements

    Realistic scnenario of a campaign:

    1- Launch: -100% ROI and losing money

    2- Test 1- Test out 3 offers. Run the best one. Now you're at -50% ROI

    3- Test 2- Test 10 ads. Run the top 3. Now you're at -10% ROI.

    4- Test 3- Test 5 LP. Run the best one. Now you're at +25% ROI.

  9. 8- Analysis

    - Log detail records of daily profits, exact spend, clicks, revenue etc.

    - Turn the data into charts and analyze patterns;

    - Identify the 80/20. What variables can you change that will make the most impact?

    Questions to ask yourself:

    - What placements are most profitable?

    - What angles are working?

    - What times of day convert best?

    - What parts of the campaign can I systemize?

    - Should I keep this campaign?

  10. 9- Scaling

    Scaling is the process of turning $100 into $1000+

    How to scale- widen your audience for more volume:

    - Run on different channels that your traffic source offers (different size ads, popups, popunders, interstitials, banners, redirects etc.);

    - Run on another traffic source in the same GEO;

    - Expand to another GEO on the same traffic source;

    - Increase bids to get more traffic;

    - Test out high volume placements that you may have paused early on.

  11. 10- Maintenance

    1- Once profitable, focus on building a system for constant improvement;

    2- Learn more about the niche so you can tackle larger traffic sources / bigger ad spends;

    3- Keep split testing ads, LP and offers. Your competition is always right behind you;

    4- Always seek out more competitive advantages.

    Even if you do everything 100% correct, shit still happens:

    - Banner blindness;

    - Offer goes down;

    - Quality issues;

    - New niches don't work.
