Tone vs. Mood Sample Text

Identifying tone and mood:
Isabelle stared out of the cold glass window panes tensely. To her disappointment, her view was obscured by the rivers of rain that nearly covered the glass. She watched carefully. If she thought she saw the slightest shape of a human, she would immediately hide behind her thick, long velvet curtain. Her headphones fit snugly, but she didn't care about the comfort for news about the kidnapper in her area was buzzing in her ears. Inconveniently, the connection suddenly ended. All she heard now was the stillness around her and the pouring rain outside. She tensed up beside the window; she dared not take her eyes off of it. If she was no longer able to get a sense of the kidnappers whereabouts, she would have to increase her vigilance.
