Omitting relative pronouns.

can only be omitted when it is the object of the clause.

When the relative pronoun is the subject of the clause, it cannot be omitted.

e.g. You'll miss the friend who you used to hang out with.

There's new vocabulary which you have to pick up.

In this you can't omit the relative pronoun.

-I ran into some people who couldn't wait to leave.

- There's no country in the world that suits everybody.
