1. Basic and one of the main tools in the world of the information and communication technology.

2. Software

   • Set of instructions or programs that are introduced in a computer in order to carry to a protocole.
   • Application Software
     • It permits to execute specific tasks from the user.
     • Ex: Word, Excel, AutoCad, Photoshop,Corel, Acrobat Reades. etc...
   • System Software
     • It administrates and controls the operation of the hardware.
     • Functions
       • 1.- It interpretes and executes the instructions througth the interface that provides to the user. 2.- It optimizes communication between input and output devices (I/O) 3.- It coordinates the processing tasks. 4.- It privides diagnostic errors of the basic parts of the compter. 5.-It serves as a connection to run the aplicaton software.
     • Multiuser
       • It permits two or more users to execute programs at the same time.
     • Multitask
       • It permits that two or more programs or applications are executed at the same time.
     • Multiprocessing
       • Have more than one processor which operates in the same memory but execute simultaneously processes
     • Graphic interfase
       • Windows MAC OSX LINUX
     • Command Line Surface
       • MS-DOS UNIX

3. Hardware

   • join of components of physical devises that intervene in a comouter.
   • Out Devices
     • They are the ones that show to the user the data previously transformed or processed.
     • Ex: The printer, the monitor, the speakers..
   • Input Devices
     • They are the ones from which the information is introduced to the computer to be processed to transformed.
     • Ex: Keyboard, bar code reader, scanner, mouse, webcam, microphone, touch screen, etc.
   • Storage Devices
     • They are the ones that permit to store or to save information.
     • RAM: is a memory that stores information that it is being executed in that moment. ROM: is a programmed memory by the manufacturer and it is a permanent memory.
     • Ex: floppy disk, hard disk, DVD/CD, USB
   • Processing Devices
     • The central process unit, also called CPU.
