1. Definition

   • Is a curve where any point is at an equal distance from a fixed point and a fixed straight line.

2. Vertex

   • Where the parabola makes its sharpest turn, is halfway between the focus and directrix.

3. Axis of symmetry

   • Is a vertical line that divides the parabola into two congruent halves.

4. Equation for a Parabola

   • Y= ax^2 + bx + c
