Chapter 13
- 1) Aunt alexandra stays with Scout
  - Because she thinks that Scout needs a feminine influence
  - To talk to her about families on Maycomb
    - She said that she's proud about the Finches
- Atticus came to the conversation
  - and start talking about the Finch's ancestry
    - Scout cries
      - Because she thinks that Atticus is gonna change forever
        Because of Aunt Alexandra, that pushed him to talk about this

- The Maycom'b's sheriff came to Finch's house
  - This causes that Tom robbinson be moved to Maycomb jail
    - Atticus went to there to defend Tom by a mob angry of people
      - Scout, Jem and Dills follow him
- Scout defends Atticus from the mob
  - And Jem deny to leave Atticus

  - Scout is confused
    - Because she doesn't understand why the people disapprove at Atticus
      - If he only applies at what he was been told to do

    - That were descriminated
      - By being alone from white
      - Being forced to leave their sits to white
  - Preparation of the trial
    - Miss Maudie refuse to go
    - Dill, Scout and Jem infiltrate into the trial

  - Realizes that Cal
    - Has been always working for the Finches
    - She had a double life
      - She was different from the other black people
        Because she educated by Miss Maudie

- The trial begins

      - Mayella's lawyer

      - Is a stupid farmer
        Mayella"s Father

        That he agreed with Mr Tate's testimonies
        That, one day he was coming from the woods when he heard her daughter screaming
        He went running to his house to see what was happening
        And saw Robbinson raping her daughter, he fled and Ewell called Heck Tate

        A description of Mayella after raped"s condition
        "Her right eye was black"
        Atticus asked why none called a doctor
        That Bob Ewell request his help
        To announce that Mayella has been beaten

    - That works for the November 21 Mayella's violation

    - Discovered that Robert Ewell might be the rapist
      - Because Ewell was left handed, and a left handed had to hit mayella on her right eye

      - Said
        That she coloborrate with everything
        That the other people had said before
      - Seems to be an small girl
        Doesn`t like Atticus because he makes direct questions

  - Discovered even more that Robert Ewell might be the raper
    - Because it seems suspicuous that none had heard Mayella screaming during the violation
    - Because he discovered that Robert Ewells get drunk sometimes
      - And someone drunk is more suspicuous to be the raper
    - Because Robinson couldn't have hit Mayella with his unuseless left arm
      - Which had been cut
    - Mayella didn`t fight too much
Chapter 19
- Dill leaves the trial
  - Because he cries by being oversensitive
    - Scout goes with him
      - Dolphus Raymond talk to them
- The trial continues
  - Testimony of
    - Tom Robinson
      - Said
        Mayella was confused in her testimony becayse
        He didn't bust uo the furniture in november 21
        It was the last spring
        Mayella asked him to bust the chifforobe
        And she wanted to give him a coin but he didn't accept
        In November 21
        Mayella asked him to come to her house to repair a door
        The door was ok but Mayella closed the door's room
        And asked him to get a box under another chifforobe
        Mayella grabbed his legs and dropped him
        She jumped on him and kissed him, he run away when Robert appeard
      - Mr Gilmer was rude to him
        By being black
        Because everyone is against him
Chapter 20
- Dolphus Raymond talks to Scout and Dill
  - he said that
    - They had a lot to learn about the world yet
      - Dill in some more years won't cry anymore for Tom
      - Atticus hadn't learned everything in 1 day
    - He really didn't drink whiskey from the sack
      - Just Coca cola
        Because he wanted that the people think that
        He is of the way he is because alcohol
        So they would accept his way of being
        This was the only way, because they would never understand
        That he live the way he lives because he likes it.
  - Gave coca cola to scout and dill
    - To help them with their stomach
- Atticus's testimony
  - Every man are created equal
    - Thomas Jefferson said this
    - The jury has to avoid the thinking that say
      - That all black man are criminal
  - The proofes that Tom isn't guilty are obvious

    - There's no medical proof that points that Mayella was beaten
      - More than two weak word's proof of witness

- Tom Robbinson is guilty
  - Scout knows because the Jury never look
    - At someone who is convicted, and 12 people of the jury didn't
- Atticus think that it is hard to win the case
  - Even if it is obvious that Tom's not guilty
    - Because the people are racist
- The Jury took a lot of time to decide
  - Because they were hiving him a chance to win
Atticus talk to the family
- He said that a reasonable man in this period of time
  - Would always choose a white's word instead of a black's word
- he said that white man that descriminated black
  - Were trash
    - Soon or later they will pay for it
- Mr Cunningham believed that Tom was innocent
  - Because they started to change their mind
    - When they went to punish Tom at the Jail
      - And changed completly between cunninghams, in the court
- Chapter 23
  - Scout tried to invitate Walter
    - Aunt Alexandra didn't accept because they were trash
      - Scout gets angry
      - Reason
        She wanted that scout be a lady
  - Jem's conclusion about folks
    - All the folks worth the same because they all had to study
      - And Studying is a sign of the worth of a familily
      - But all the folks are bad in the same way
        Making that Boo Radley stay in home
Chapter 22
- Miss Maudie talks with the kids
  - She tries to comfort the kids saying that
    - There were also other people that tried to help Tom
      - Judge Taylor
        By choosing Atticus to take the case
      - Colored folks
    - Even if Atticus didn't win, he made the jury think a lot
      - And started to change the mind of Maycomb
Chapter 25
- Scout is going to mash an insect
  - Jem tells her to not do it
    - Because it was a sin
      - Theory of "to kill a mockingbird"
        The insect doesn't do anything bad
- Jem and Dill went with Atticus and Cal to give the Tom's dead news
  - Helen dropped without hearing a word
    - Because of the racism
- Tom's dead new
  - Took the attention for 2 days
    - The town thought that his dead was typical
      - Because it is usual that black man take the first opportunity that they have
        Like Tom did by running
        Because they had no plans because the society doesn't give them rights to make "plans"
  - Bob Ewell comment
    - "The dead made it one more and about two more to go"
      - It was possitive for him because it made one negro less in the world

- Scout think on Boo Radley
  - She wanna see him
  - She's not too afraid of him
  - Atticus responded that it's dangerous
    - To go to the Radley's place
      - By Nathan Radley
- Jem got angry
  - When Scout told him that she heard from Miss Gates
    - That it was time that we taught to niggas a lesson
      - It was contradictory from someone who liked democracy

    - He's still affected by the trial

- Bob Ewell bother the people who's related to the trial
  - He infiltrates into Judge Taylor's house
  - He annoyed Helen Robbinson by following her and saying bad words
    - Link Deas defends her
  - He blames Atticus for "getting" his job
  - It worries Aunt Alexandra
- Halloween's celebration
  - Scout is going to be dressed like a ham
    - Jem has to take care of her because
      - Atticus is too tired by work
      - Aunt Alexandra had to go to bed early because she was too tired by decarating the halloween's stage
    - Because there's an organized event because
      - Of a practical joke made against Miss Tutti and Miss Frutti
Chapter 28
- Jem carries Scout to the halloween's celebration
  - Cecil Jacobs scary them
    - Cecil Jacobs stay with Scout, playing with 30 cents that Jem gave her
      - She pays her 30 cents on some halloween's posts made by students
        Miss merriweather tells to them that the show is gonna start
- Scout fell asleep
  - Because Miss merriweathers told the boring achievements of coronel Maucomb
    - Miss merriweather told her that she ruined the presentation
      - Even If everyone were applauding
        She stays ashemed with Jem behind the stage until everyone leave the room
- Scout and Jem are attacked
  - In their way to go home, Bob Ewell attacked them
    - Boo Radley defended them
      - Because Boo Radley Appreciated Scout and Jem
        Because they were in contact with Boo with their games
    - Reason
      - Bob Ewell wanted to take revenge with Atticus
        By humiliating him
        Bob died
- Bob died trying to complete his revenge
  - "I will take revenge, even If it is the last thing that I do
Chapter 30
- Atticus deal with Heck Tate
  - Atticus think that Jem killed Bob Ewell
    - doesn't want to hide the truth
      - Because he doesn't want that Jem grow hearing the people saying that "his dad saved him
        He doesn't want to protect his son from the law
      - If he hide the truth, their children will grow thinking that his dad is a lier and a bad father
  - Tate think that Boo killed Bob Ewell
    - Reasons
      - It's imposible that Jem could kill Ewell having an arm broken and little strong
    - He wants to protect Boo saying that Bob fell on his own knife
Chapter 31
- Scout started to see the world from Boo Radley's perspective
  - Because she has learned more about him
    - Like that he was a nice man by saving her and Jem
      - He did the things he did by a reason, and scout stood on his shoes
