PLANT CLASSIFICATION
  1. NON-FLOWERING PLANTS
    1. They don't produce flowers, seeds or fruit.
      1. They reproduce with spores
        1. MOSSES

          Annotations:

          • They are very small. They have tiny stem, leaf and roots. They grow on rocks, tree trunks and in the ground. The roots are called rhizoids: fine fibres like hair, which attach the plant to the soil. Rhizoids do not take in water. Instead, mosses absorve water through stem and leaves. Moss spores are produced in a capsule at the end of a long filament.
          1. FERNS

            Annotations:

            • They are longer than mosses. They have a thick stem called rhizome. The rhizome grows underground. The roots and the leaves grow from the rhizome. Ferns have large leaves called fronds. Fern spores grow on the underside of the leaves, on dark spots called sori.
          2. FLOWERING PLANTS
            1. They produce flowers and seeds
              1. They reproduce with flowers and seeds.
                1. GYMNOSPERMS

                  Annotations:

                  • They have a small, simple flowers without a corolla or calyx. They don't produce fruit. The seeds are grouped together in cones. Most of them are perennials or evergreens.
                  1. ANGIOSPERMS

                    Annotations:

                    • They have large beautiful flowers. They produce fruit with seeds inside. They include shrubs, trees and grasses. They can be deciduos or perennial.
