Accuracy
- Accuracy refers to the degree of conformity and correctness of something when compared to a true or absolute value
- One measurement is enough to determine accuracy,
- Accuracy refers to the degree of conformity and correctness of something when compared to a true or absolute value
precision
- precision refers to a state of strict exactness — how consistently something is strictly exact.
- the precision of an experiment, object, or value is a measure of the reliability of
- At least several measurements are required to determine precision.
Accuracy and precision are two important factors to consider when taking data measurements. Both accuracy and precision reflect how close a measurement is to an actual value, but accuracy reflects how close a measurement is to a known or accepted value, while precision reflects how reproducible measurements are, even if they are far from the accepted value.
