  1. Environmental contamination is called the presence of harmful components (whether chemical, physical or biological) in the environment (natural and artificial environment), which cause harm to living beings that inhabit it, including humans. Environmental pollution is mainly caused by causes derived from human activity, such as the emission of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere or the excessive exploitation of natural resources. Causes of environmental pollution The anthropogenic sources that generate the greatest environmental pollution are the following: Excessive logging. Industrial emissions and discharges to the atmosphere and the hydrosphere. Extraction, processing and refining of fossil fuels (oil, coal and natural gas). Energy production with fossil fuels and other non-renewable sources. Excessive use of automobiles and other modes of transportation powered by gasoline or diesel.
