1. WORDS

   • Minimal meaningful unit of a language
   • Morphs and phones
     • Written representation of sound
       • Each letter representing the sound is connected to other letters to create words
   • Meaning
     • Phrases and sentences
       • Speech

2. MEANING

   • What speakers mean
     • Sometimes the speakers mean other thing rather than what they have uttered in a conversation.
   • What words (or sentences) mean
     • There is a difference between what the words mean and what the speakers mean when he/she transmits a message

3. MUTLIPLE - MEANING

   • there are two different ways to convey meaning in a conversation
     • Word/sentence meaning
       • the literal meaning or the literal sense given by a linguistic structure
     • Speaker's meaning
       • Meaning that the speaker conveys in a conversation which may not be totally related to the correct or literal meaning of words.
