Hormons
Lymphocytes
- A small leukocyte with a rounded nucleus that is normally present in the blood and lymphatic tissues; function is closely related to immune defense mechanisms.
Negative feedback
- Negative feedback is one that has the net effect of mitigating the impact.
White blood cells
- White blood cells are part of the immune system. They help the body fight infections and other diseases. When you get sick, your body makes more white blood cells to fight the bacteria, viruses, or other foreign substances that have caused the condition.
Spleen
- Organ that is part of the lymphatic system. The spleen makes lymphocytes, filters the blood, stores blood cells, and destroys old blood cells. It is located on the left side of the abdomen, near the stomach.
Urethra
- .Duct through which the urine contained in the bladder is expelled to the outside.
Ureter
- Tube that carries urine from the kidney to the bladder.
Nephron
- The nephron or nephron is the basic structural and functional unit of the kidney, responsible for the purification of the blood. Its main function is to filter the blood to regulate water and soluble substances, reabsorbing what is necessary and excreting the rest as urine.
Bladder
- The bladder (sometimes called the urinary bladder) is a balloon-shaped organ located in the lower abdomen, near the pelvis. Urine from the kidneys collects in the bladder until it is eliminated from the body.
Kidneys
- The kidneys are two bean-shaped organs, each about the size of a fist. They are located just below the rib cage (ribs), one on each side of the spine.
External barriers
- External barriers are limiting our body in contact with the outside. They are physical, chemical or biological barriers. They are characterized by being non specific and innate.
Innate Immune response
- Innate, or nonspecific, immunity is a defense system that you were born with that protects you against all antigens. Innate immunity consists of barriers that prevent harmful materials from entering the body. These barriers form the first line of defense in the immune response.
Hyponatremia
- Texto de origen A condition that occurs when the level of sodium in the blood is too low. This disease is characterized by fluid retention in the body, which dilutes the amount of sodium in the blood and causes the levels to be low.
Immune system
- The immune system is the body's defense system against infection. The immune system attacks invading germs and helps us stay healthy.
Hypotermia
- Decrease in body temperature below normal
Homeostasis
- Set of self-regulation phenomena, leading to the maintenance of a relative constancy in the composition and properties of the internal environment of an organism.
Dehydration
- Dehydration occurs when a person loses more fluids than they incorporate. Dehydration is not as serious a problem in teens as it can be in babies or young children. But if you ignore thirst, dehydration can take a lot of energy out of you.
Excretory system
- The excretory system is a set of organs responsible for excretion, that is, the elimination of waste produced by cellular activity. The excretory system is a set of organs responsible for excretion, that is, the elimination of waste produced by cellular activity.
Frostbite
- Frostbite or frostbite is the medical condition where the skin and other tissues are damaged by extreme cold. At temperatures equal to or below 0 ° C the blood vessels begin to narrow. This helps preserve body temperature.
Locomotor system
- The musculoskeletal system, also called the musculoskeletal system, is made up of bones, muscles, tendons, and ligaments.
Heat stroke
- The "heat stroke", for example, is a medical condition that occurs when the body temperature rises above 39.4 ° Celsius, either due to the environmental condition or vigorous physical activity, in which the body is unable to regulate your temperature
Thymus
- The thymus is a small organ located in the upper chest, under the breastbone. It makes white blood cells, which are called lymphocytes; These protect the body against infection.
Tonsils
- The tonsils are the immune system's first line of defense against bacteria and viruses that enter the mouth. This function can make the tonsils especially vulnerable to infection and inflammation.
Endocrine system
- Glándulas y órganos que elaboran hormonas y las liberan directamente en la sangre de manera que llegan a los tejidos y órganos de todo el cuerpo. El sistema endocrino produce hormonas que controlan muchas funciones importantes del cuerpo.
Smooth muscle
- They are responsible for regulating the circulatory system, respiration, sexual function, metabolism, and digestion. The best-known smooth muscle tissues are the intestine, esophagus, and the inner walls of blood vessels.
Skeleton
- A set of hard and rigid parts that protect the body or support the tissues of some invertebrates.
Cardiac muscle
- Cardiac or myocardial muscle has structural and functional characteristics intermediate between skeletal and smooth muscle. It gives the heart rhythmic and continuous contraction.
Skeletal muscle
- Skeletal muscles are a type of striated muscles attached to the skeleton, made up of elongated and polynucleated cells or fibers that locate their nuclei in the periphery
Cartilage
- Cartilage is the firm, but flexible tissue that covers the ends of the bones in a joint. It also shapes and supports other parts of the body, such as the ears, nose, and windpipe.
Ligaments
- Tendons serve to move the bone or structure, while ligaments are the fibrous connective tissue that joins bones together and generally their function is to join structures and keep them stable.
Possitive feedback
- It is positive if the gland stimulates the hormone or directly the enzyme so that it continues to generate that product.
Bone
- Liquid, red in color in vertebrates, which, driven by the heart, circulates through the blood vessels of the body of people and animals, carrying oxygen, food and waste products.
