CONDITIONALS

1. Zero conditional

   • It is used to make a statement about the real world and usually refers to facts whose result is unique and evident.
     • If you don't put sun cream on, you get burnt.
     • If you mix red and blue, you get purple.
   • Estructure: If + Condition (sentence with verb conjugated in present simple) + Result (sentence with verb conjugated in present simple)

2. The first conditional

   • This conditional is used in situations where, if a condition is met, it will have been determined. Scenarios are posed in the future whose outcome is highly probable.
     • If the weather is nice on Sunday, we'll go on a picnic.
     • If you have any problems, you must call me.
   • Estructure: If + sujeto + present simple, sujeto + future simple

3. The second conditional

   • It is used to raise unrealistic ideas in the present or actions in the future that are unlikely
     • If I won the lottery, I would buy a house
     • She would travel all over the world if she were rich.
   • Estructure: If + Condition (sentence with verb conjugated in past simple) + would + Result (sentence with verb in infinitive).

4. The third conditional

   • This conditional is used to raise situations from the past that never happened and what would have been their result in the present
     • If I had studied medicine, I would have been a surgeon today
     • If I had kicked that ball right now we would be league champions
   • Estructure: If + Condition (sentence with verb conjugated in the past perfect) + would have + Result (sentence with verb conjugated in the past).
