1. Software

   • "The software part of a computer system is made up of everything that is not physical: programs and data."
     • Basic software
       • -The software that the computer needs to function.
     • programming software
       • -Used to develop new software.
     • apliccation software
       • -Programs or apps that are used for specific tasks
     • Firmware
       • -A specific type of computer software which provides the low-level logic that controls the electronic circuits of a device.
   • Programs
     • "Set of instructions that, once executed, will perform one or more tasks on a computer."
     • programming languages
       • "Set of symbols combined following a certain syntax, which allows the introduction of instructions in the computer."
       • low-level
         • machine language
           • -Directly understandable by the computer. -System dependent.
         • assembly language
           • -Each assembly language instruction is equivalent to one machine language instruction. -Easier to understand. -Quickly to translate an instruction into a machine language.
       • high level
         • -Independents of the hardware. -Must be translated into machine language.

2. Hardware

   • "It is the physical part of the computer , the tangible elements. Example: memory, CPU, hard disk, etc."
     • input devices
       • "It is all that device that sends information to the computer."
     • storage devices
       • "any type of computing hardware that is used for storing, porting or extracting data files and objects."
     • output devices
       • "It is all that device that processes information from the computer and sends it to the user."
   • Supercomputers
     • -Great calculation capacity and large size
   • Mainframes
     • -Used in companies for the processing of large amounts of data.
   • Servers
     • -Servers offer services to other computers inside a network.

3. Human components

   • "It is made up of the people who participate in the management, design, development, implementation and operation of a computer system."
