Quantitative Desings
Descriptive Research
- is used to understand a phenomenon, a situation, or a population
- It does not involve the manipulation of certain variables.
- The analysis and synthesis of the data provide the test of the hypothesis.
- These research projects are designed to provide systematic information about a phenomenon.
Quasi-Experimental Research
- is often employed when true experiments cannot be carried out due to practical or ethical reasons
- it has a higher external validity than most true experiments
Correlational Research
- Is a non-experimental research method used to identify a relationship between two variables with no influence from any extraneous variable.
- The correlation between the two variables will reflect the direction and/or strength of their relationship
- recognize trends and patterns in data, but it does not go so far in its analysis to prove causes for these observed patterns.
Experimental Research
- nown as true experimentation
- This is done by manipulating the independent variable to study its effects on the dependent variable
- This is done by manipulating the independent variable to study its effects on the dependent variable
